
Anthony “Tony” McMahon on BBC Question Time in 1980
Anthony McMahon, son of Peter McMahon (1937 – ) and Alice McMahon (1932-2016) appeared on BBC Question time in 1980 and commented in favour of Irish people being allowed to vote in UK elections. He was just 16 but already heavily into politics!
Since then, he has been a BBC producer, Sky News reporter and a published author. His biography of the boxer Errol Christie was short-listed for best sports biography of 2011 in the United Kingdom. He wrote the life story of Neville Staple, vocalist in legendary ska band The Specials.
And most recently, he co-authored a book on Islamist extremism with human rights activist Sara Khan, The Battle for British Islam published by Saqi Books.
