Peter McMahon (1937-) married Alice Vaz Fernandes who was born in Porto in 1932 and emigrated to the United Kingdom in 1959. They met at Claybury Hospital, a mental asylum, where they both worked in the early 1960s. This is Alice pictured as a young woman in Portugal (on the left) with her half sister Maria de Lourdes.
